TBurt's picture immediately brought to mind a line from Paradise Lost--so, I'll share the passage I have in mind, then give the word:
The world was all before them, where to chose
Their place of rest, and Providence their guide:
They, hand in hand, with wandering steps and slow,
Through Eden took their solitary way.
There's an awful lot to say about this passage (these are the last lines of Paradise Lost, as Adam and Eve are set to leave Paradise)--but I don't want to spoil it by saying too much. So--the word of the day is:
Prelapsarian: Prelapsarian refers to the time or state of being before the fall of mankind. Do you think, though, that we're supposed to view this fall as a fall? It seems less like a lapse to me, and more like a leap (or maybe even more like a measured sort of step--after all, the "steps" are "wandering and slow")--it seems as though A&E are fairly circumspect with regard to the world beyond Paradise--indeed the world is all before them--and it is their luxury now to chose, with all delicacy and patience (and more than just a little faith) what in the world is to be had. Have a great day everyone!!
